What HOA Grove doesn’t do
We would rather you find this out now than three weeks into a trial. If any of these are deal-breakers for your board, HOA Grove is not the tool for you — better to know today.
Full double-entry accounting
We invoice, collect and record dues, and export a payment period for your bookkeeper. We are not a general ledger and we are not going to become one — it is a deliberate boundary, not a gap. Communities that need double-entry books keep the ones they have.
Text messages and phone calls
Announcements, invoices, violations and ARC decisions notify residents by email. There is no SMS or voice broadcast.
Assessing or billing fines
Violations are recorded with their evidence, discussion and resolution. If your covenants allow fines, your board assesses them under its existing process — HOA Grove does not calculate or bill them. It is the most-requested addition we have.
Printing and mailing letters for you
Notices are delivered in the app and by email. If your covenants require certified mail for an escalation, that step still happens off-platform.
Billing questions
Anything else, email support@hoagrove.com.
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
No. You get 30 days commitment-free without entering payment details, and nothing charges automatically when the trial ends.
Are there fees on dues payments?
None charged to the association — your dues arrive in full, in your own Stripe account. The person making the payment covers the processing on top of the dues amount: Stripe’s rate for the card or bank transfer, plus a flat 49¢ to HOA Grove. Our part never changes with the amount — a $600 annual assessment carries the same 49¢ as a $95 monthly one. Bank transfers cost less than cards and the Stripe portion is capped, so they are worth encouraging. Autopay adds a further 0.5% — Stripe’s charge for recurring billing, not ours; our 49¢ is identical either way. A homeowner who pays by check pays nothing.
Which size are we, and what happens if we grow?
Count the homes in your association: up to 50, 51 to 150, or 151 and up. If you cross a boundary, the next size applies from your following billing period. Nothing about the software changes with size — the largest community gets exactly what the smallest does.
Can we switch plans later?
Yes, in either direction, from your billing settings. Standard and Pro are two versions of the same subscription, so switching does not disturb your data.
Who pays the subscription — the HOA or a board member?
Usually the association, on its own card. At these prices it is a line item most boards approve without a special meeting — which is rather the point.
If we leave, do we get our data back?
Yes, and ask for it while you are cancelling rather than afterwards. Your properties, members, invoices and enforcement history come back to you as spreadsheets, and the documents you uploaded come back as the files you uploaded — no exit fee and no notice period. A community's data is removed within 7 days of the account closing, so the export needs to happen while you are still a customer rather than months later.
How do we cancel?
From your billing settings, yourself, at any time. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.
Give your board its evenings back
Set up your community in an afternoon. Thirty days, commitment free — no credit card, no onboarding call, no contract.
